Road. To obtain the necessary length it would be necessary
to acquire Marine Lot 10.
The area of this Lot is 57,983
square feet, and the land and buildings on it are valued
by the Director of Public Works at $364,213. If 10 per
centum is added for compulsory sale the amount is increased
to $400,633.

In order to comply with the
Consulting Engineers' requirement of a 12 chain radius for
the curves in approaching the Station, much valuable land
on the reclamation to the North of Kowloon Marine Lot 81
shewn as enclosed between the line C' C C on the attached
plan is rendered practically valueless.

The access by ferry is open to
the objection that without the costly resumption of Marine
Lot 10 it is not possible to bring a train alongside the
ferry, which is the most expeditious and satisfactory
manner of dealing with the passenger traffic.
